Special LHCA Meeting

Tuesday July 18, 2006 at 7:00 PM
University Chiristian Church
5831 West Centinela (At Wooster)
(310) 670-4747

Speaker: L.A. County Department of Public works and Consolidated Disposal Services.

In an effort to increase recycling, conserve natural resources, and improve trash collection services, the County will be replacing the current manual trash collection method by a more advanced automated system. Under the automated system, refuse, recyclables, and green waste will be collected from three separate containers by a truck using a mechanical arm. During the month of August 2006, each single-family household in Ladera Heights will receive one set of three containers, while multiple-family dwellings will received multiple sets of containers. Dumpster service is also available upon request. The automated system is tentatively scheduled to commence on September 1, 2006.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, in coordination with the LHCA, will hold a community meeting to answer questions and provide additional information regarding the automated system.

Public Works appreciates your cooperation during this transition and is interested in accommodating your needs to the best extent feasible. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Public Works' hotline at (800) 404-4487, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
