Security
The two security patrol and alarm services companies with the largest presence in Ladera Heights are Security Services Systems and Bel Air Patrol (ADT).My choice from the two is Security Service Systems because they have been heavily involved in supporting the Ladera Heights community and they have patrol officers who really know the area, what is normal, and what is not. In addition to their 24 hour response, Security Services Systems currently has car dedicated soley to patrol of Ladera Heights for 8 hours per day. As the number of residents signed up for their patrol service increases, they will expand the hours of their dedicated patrol, so the more Ladera Residents that choose Security Services Systems, the better it will be for all of us.

Locksmith and physical security
You can find basic information on physical security for your home at www.hmtech.info/security. For work on locks, doors, and other physical security for your home my recomendation is Top Lock and Key. Your choices for telivision are cable, from Time Warner Cable, Satelite from DirecTV or Dish Network, or getting your signal off the air with an antenna. If you are near the top of Upper Ladera and don't need the cable/satelite only channels, you can get strong signals for all of the major on-the-air stations, but the signal is weaker as you move down the hill. Of the other two choices, Satelite is likely to be the cheaper option, but if you get high speed internet from Time Warner Cable, the discount applied to internet access might make the cost comparable.- DirecTV -
