Homes in Ladera Heights range from the $500,000's for some homes in Lower Ladera Heights and Old Ladera to more than a million dollars for larger homes and the newer Lewis Homes in upper Ladera. Many of the homes in Upper Ladera Heights have views west to the Ocean or South to Palos Verdes. The value for the dollar tends to be much better than in other areas on the West side of Los Angeles and prices have come down in the past couple of years.

Ladera Heights is a small community and there are usually only a few listings for homes in Ladera Heights. View Park, View Heights, and Windsor Hills Homes and Real Estate

View Park, View Heights, and Windsor Hills are in the Los Angeles Unified school district. It is in unincorporate Los Angeles county and is served by the Marina del Rey Sheriff station. Many of the homes in view park have spectacular views of downtown Los Angeles and are priced accordingly, but the value for what you get it likely to be better here than it is along the beach in Marina del Rey. Culver City Homes and Real Estate

Culver City is located on the west side of Los Angeles, located centrally to much of the west side and Northwest of Ladera Heights. It stretches westward to Marina del Rey, and north to the Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles. It is a separate incorporated city with its own Police, Fire, bus lines and school district, which many consider to be one of the better school districts in the area. Several years ago, the Ladera Heights commuity initiated a campaign to have their school districted switched to Culver City. This campaign was not successful because of attempts by Inglewood to block the exit of Ladera Heights from their school district. Fox Hills is a community within Culver City South of Slauson Ave and West of Ladera Heights. Prices for homes in Culver City start around $650K for houses and $400K for condos. Marina del Rey Homes and Real Estate

Located along the beach, Marina del Rey is the largest man-made harbor in the world. It is a well situated for easy access to many recreational activities, and waterside homes have great views. Most of the homes in Marina del Rey that are adjacent to the Marina itself are multi-family, either apartments, or condominiums. There are two major pockets of single family homes, along the canal on the Marina peninsula, and in the triangle formed by Lincoln and Washington Boulevards, and Admiralty Way. The single family homes in Marina del Rey are pricey, and most have small lots. Like Ladera Heights, Marina del Rey is in unincorporated Los Angeles country, and shares the Marina Sheriff station with Ladera Heights. Southwest of Ladera Heights, the Westchester neighborhood on the west side of Los Angeles California, just norh of Los Angeles Internation Airport (LAX). You will find homes in Westchester with reasonable value for price paid, as compared with other west side communities such as Marina del Rey. Some parts of Westchester are beneath the LAX north runway flight path and are noisy. Other parts are far enough away that they are less effected. The nicer parts of Westchester are along the Westchester Bluffs that overlook Playa Vista. Loyola Marymount University is located in Westchester along the blufs. Playa Vista Homes and Real Estate

Playa Vista is a new, huge, housing development located south of Jefferson Blvd, between Lincoln and Centinella, below the Westchester Bluffs and LMU, where the old Hughs airfield used to lie. The construction is all new and prices range from the 500 thousands for the lower end lofts and condos through the mid millions for single family homes. The homes are large, but the lots are tiny. The community is a planned commuity with an two levels of associations, and monthly maintenance fees that vary depending on the housing project in which you purchase. Located to the south of Ladera Heights and Inglewood and southeast of LAX, Hawthorne is served by three school districts, Hawthorne, Centinela Valley, and Wiseburn. Hawthorne is a separately incorporated city with its own police department. Fire service is provided by the Los Angeles County Fire department.
