In the fall of 2009, in the Wiseburn School District, two new small, tuition-free, public charter schools will open: Da Vinci Science (STEM focused) and Da Vinci Design (Liberal Arts). Each of these schools will serve an incoming class of 156 ninth-grade students and are being designed to challenge, engage and support all students as they develop the 21st century skills critical for success in college and the global marketplace.
They are now entering the next stage of the enrollment process and have started a waiting list. If they get enough additional students, they will consider expanding the enrollment to accommodate some or all on the waiting list. If you would like more information about the Wiseburn 21st Century Charter Schools, click on this link to their website: http://www.wiseburncharters.org. On the website, you can request to be added to the waiting list.
It is so exciting to know that there is another option for high school... and the best part is that you DO NOT NEED A PERMIT! So, don't wait if you have a child going into the 9th grade... sign up now if you have not already done so. They would love to welcome more Ladera families so feel free to forward this e-mail to other families and friends in the Ladera community.
